The BBSRC-funded BaCellSysMO2 (http://www.sysmo.net/ ) project - part of a collaborative research program among various research groups in 3 countries. You will engage in a largely computational Systems Biology analysis of metabolic channelling. It will use unique experimental data obtained in the partner labs, both in terms of complex formation and in terms of protein concentrations, fluxes and kinetics. You will develop new ways of modelling metabolic channelling and realting the models to systems biology experimental data. You will also be engaged in close collaborations with the partner laboratories in continental Europe and with other systems biology groups at the University of Manchester, and will be involved in co-direcitng three parallel systems biology projects.
You will have a PhD, or equivalent in biology, physics, bioinformatics, mathematics, biochemistry, engineering or experimental molecular biology. You will also have a demonstrated interest in Systems Biology and demonstrated experience in, or an affinity for precise experimental analysis in biochemistry, molecular or microbiology, as well as modelling.
The post is available immediately and is tenable until 30th July 2013.
